A headache for early Windows 11 adopters, Microsoft has fixed several features that were failing to load after an expired certificate was recently discovered. Some Windows 11 users haven’t been able to open apps like the Snipping Tool, touch keyboard, or emoji panel since a certificate expired on October 31st. The issues also affected voice typing and the getting started and tips sections of Windows 11. Microsoft warned Windows 11 users about the problems earlier this month and released an out-of-band update on November 5.
What Should You Do?
If you’re running Windows 11, the update will automatically install from Windows Update. You will need to reboot your system for these revisions to take effect.
