Back in 2012, we warned our friends and clients that a data breach occurred at LinkedIN.com and 6 million accounts and passwords where stolen. It turns out that actually 117 Million credentials were stolen!

A hacker has posted the information for sale on a Dark Web marketplace, ‘The Real Deal”, for roughly $2,200 dollars payable in the form of 5 bitcoins. Bitcoins are favored in the Dark Web as they are untraceable. It’s the de facto currency for Ransomware.

So, if you didn’t head our warning in 2012, change your LinkedIN.com password now. It’s a good practice to change all your passwords at the very least yearly. You never know what data breaches have gone undetected and unreported.
