CryptoWare malware is new RansomWare that encrypts/locks your files and demands money to return them.

Key Points:

  • Windows 7, Vista, and XP operating systems are vulnerable
  • Your computer and software keep on working but your documents, spreadsheets and images are encrypted/locked
  • Beyond your computer the virus can encrypt data stored on the network drives you have access to
  • The attackers give you roughly three days to pay them otherwise your data is gone forever
