Google Chrome’s latest update has a security fix – users are urged to apply when notified

Google has released a security update for the Chrome browser on Windows, Mac and Linux to fix a newly discovered zero-day vulnerability that is being exploited actively by cyberattacks.  Successful exploitation of the vulnerability could allow for arbitrary code execution in the context of the logged on user. Depending on the privileges associated with the user an attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than those who operate with administrative user rights.

What You Need to Do
Google says it expects the update to roll out an update for CVE-2022-3075 to all users in the coming days or weeks.  Users are urged to apply the update when Chrome notifies them.  Luckily, updating Chrome is usually as simple as restarting.  Click here to learn how to check your device, ensuring you are receiving the latest updates.
