Summer kick-off is a couple days away! Before you sign off for the long weekend, implement these simple steps to ensure your computer is updated, secure and refreshed upon return.
What You Should Do
Before you shut down for the holiday weekend, it’s important to have your workstation in order to ensure a stress-free return! Here are some things you should do before you close out for the week.
- Make sure all documents are saved and cleanly closed. In the event of a power outage or some other interruption to the computer, it becomes less likely that any work will be lost. A closed file is a backed-up file.
- Restart your computer before you leave. Some security updates need a reboot to be applied, this will allow for necessary installations, ensuring everything is secure and up-to-date.
- Do not completely shut off your computer. Leave your PC at the login screen in case further updates need to be installed.
