Flaw leaves user data vulnerable; update ASAP

An IOS coding error allows communications sent over unsecure Wi-fi networks to be potentially intercepted and read by hackers. Apple has released a patch for the Iphone, but the flaw was then found to also affect OS X, which Apple will shortly be releasing a patch for.

Chrome and Mozilla Firefox don’t have the flaw, but IOS uses the WebKit-based Safari engine regardless of the browser, so all browsers can be exploited on IOS. While most people know better than to perform a sensitive transaction on an unsecure Wi-fi network, we are using this advisory to stress the importance of updating your IPhone regularly to remain as secure as possible.
