As other common search engines and top communications companies have been said to provide Government with open, unlimited access to user information, anonymous search engine DuckDuckgo doesn’t track or collect any information at all, therefore leaving it with nothing to share.

Although it’s become almost instinct to Google or Bing it, recent privacy concerns surrounding the Prism reports seem to have launched rookie DuckDuckgo into the playing field, giving veterans a run for their money.

Gabriel Weinberg, the one-man operation behind DuckDuckGo, draws on current privacy anxieties. People know about Google’s stored searches and employee snooping, he explains, but are less aware that when your search term appears in the Google Link, the information is sent to that company and other 3rd party agencies.

The mobile app at www.appstore.com, was released yesterday, broadening the reach for anywhere, anytime anonymous search access.
