Google has rushed to patch a zero-day vulnerability in Chrome that was exploited by a commercial spyware vendor. If you haven’t done so already, we encourage you to update your Chrome browser ASAP. CVE-2023-5217 exists in the wild and this flaw could have allow criminals to sneakily install spyware on victims without them realizing.
What You Should Do
Update your Chrome browser immediately. Here’s how:
- Open Chrome Browser
- Click on the three dots icon located in the top right corner
- From the drop down menu, click Settings
- Click on About Chrome at the bottom left
- Chrome will then automatically search for and install any available updates
Once updates are completed, you should click Relaunch to restart the Chrome browser, ensuring updates are complete.
