For the second year in a row, Business Machine Technologies participated in the Seaside Heights Polar Bear Plunge. On February 23, employees plunged into the freezing Atlantic waters, raising almost $7,000 for Special Olympics New Jersey.
“This year was definitely a challenge due to the very cold temperatures”, said Matt Pellitteri, Vice President of BMT and Official Team Captain. “Despite the weather, the BMT team had a great time supporting this wonderful cause.”
The Seaside Polar Plunge is an annual event that this year brought approximately 7,500 participants to the frigid Atlantic waters, raising over $2.0 million for Special Olympics New Jersey. All monies go towards year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
